​What does HABA mean?
HABA stands for Health Aid Beauty Aid.

What is the shelf-life of HABA's products?​
HABA products are good for three years if unopened and for one year if opened.

Are HABA's products natural?​
The only product that is 100% natural is Squalane. All other products are additive-free. Natural doesn't necessarily mean better. For example, HABA uses Vitamin C derivative in some products because using straight Vitamin C on skin can be irritating. HABA only uses ingredients that are safe and healthy for skin. Unlike most cosmetic companies, HABA does not use harmful preservatives such as paraben, instead, HABA uses ingredients such as sasa kurilensis water (bamboo extract).

Is Squa Powder Wash an exfoliant?
The grains of powder become a silky smooth lather when water is added and no rough particles remain. However, papaya enzyme found in Squa Powder Wash helps to remove dirt and dead skin cells naturally without the use of rough exfoliants.

What kind of soap is Squa Facial Soap?
It is a glycerin soap.​

​Is Squa Cleansing a makeup remover or face wash?
Both. Squa Cleansing removes makeup, cleanses skin and moisturizes all in one easy step.​

Can I use Squa Cleansing as a face wash?
We recommend using Squa Cleansing only after wearing makeup. For a regular face wash please try one of our face wash products such as Squa Powder Wash, Creamy Bubble Facial Foam or Squa Facial Soap.

Is Squa Cleansing dangerous if I get it in my eyes?
No. Squa Cleansing is made from 35.8% Squalane oil, so it will not irritate eyes. To prevent oil from entering into eyes, use a cotton ball to take off eye makeup and rinse thoroughly before opening eyes.​​

Does G-Lotion contain alcohol?
No. It does not contain any alcohol.

Is G-Lotion a lotion or toner?
G-Lotion is a toner. In Japan, toner is referred to as lotion.

What is the difference between G-Lotion and VC-Lotion?
G-Lotion contains no alcohol and is a gentle cosmetic for sensitive skin. VC-Lotion contains Vitamin-C derivative which helps even skin tone by lightening age spots and acne marks.

Why is G-Lotion purple?
The purple colour comes from the lithospermum erythrorhizone root extract. This root extract has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties.

Why is G-Lotion losing its purple colour? Has it stopped working?
The lithospermum erythrorhizone root extract loses its colour over time, but no minerals are lost.

Why does G-Lotion smell?
Sometimes G-Lotion has a slight odour. This comes from sasa kurilensis water which is extracted from bamboo. Depending on when the bamboo is harvested, it may or may not have a strong odour. This odour will not last after applied to skin.
​
What effect does sasa kurilensis water have?
This bamboo extract acts as a preservative, contains antibacterial properties and helps to keep skin moisturized.

​Does VC-Lotion contain alcohol?
Yes. It contains a slight amount of alcohol which acts as a preservative. It is not an astringent so it will not leave you with that cool sensation like most alcohol-based toners.

Is VC-Lotion a lotion or toner?
VC-Lotion is a toner. In Japan, toner is referred to as lotion.

Why is VC-Lotion yellow?
VC-Lotion contains Vitamin B2 which makes the toner yellow in colour. Vitamin B2 works to prevent acne and reduces oil.

Does VC-Lotion help to lighten age spots?
Yes. VC-Lotion contains Vitamin C derivative which helps even skin tone by lightening age spots and acne marks.

​Does Squa Dew contain alcohol?
Yes. It contains a small amount of alcohol.
​
What is the difference between Squa Dew and Squalane?
Squa Dew contains Squalane as well as other ingredients. It is recommended for those who don't like the feeling of oil as it is a much drier moisturizer.

What is Squalane?
Made from Squalene (shark liver oil), this beauty oil is 99.9% pure. Squalene is the same oil found in your own skin so it naturally moisturizes.
​
What is the other .01%?
Hydrogen is used in the Squalene purification process and therefore we can only say the Squalane is 99.99. . .% pure.
​
Does Squalane smell fishy?
No. HABA's Squalane is refined many times and is highly purified so it has no smell. More of a concern is that it easily absorbs other smells like perfumes, etc., so make sure that the cap is firmly closed after use.

Can Squalane be applied to hair?
Yes. After drying, apply Squalane to ends of hair. Applying Squalane too close to the root may cause hair to look greasy.

Is Squalane greasy?
Squalane is originally a component of sebum which is responsible for your skin's moisture. When you use HABA Squalane in the proper amounts, it is not sticky. If you feel greasy even from a drop of it, try SQUA DEW which has a lighter feeling.

I would like natural baby oil. Can I apply Squalane to my baby's skin?
We do not have baby oil in our product line; however, Squalane is safe for babies. To use, spread two or three drops of Squalane on the palms of your hands and apply to the baby right after a bath or shower while baby's skin is still wet. To use it on dry skin, wipe it with wet gauze or cotton and apply Squalane. Some doctors at maternity clinics use Squalane for massaging newborn babies and for new mother's stretch marks.

What is the difference between Umi No Houseki and Squalane?
Umi No Houseki is a paste made by mixing starchy ingredients added to liquid Squalane. Liquid Squalane penetrates into the skin quickly while Umi No Houseki paste penetrates slower when warmed up to body temperature. Its moisturizing effect lasts for a long time so it is ideal for very rough or itchy areas.

​What is the difference between Squa Q10 and Squalane?
Squa Q10 contains Squalane as well as Coenzyme Q10 which has dramatic anti-aging properties.

Can I use both Squalane and Squa Q10?
No. Both Squalane and Squa Q10 are moisturizers, so we recommend using only one of these products at a time. We recommend Squa Q10 if you are concerned about aging.

What is the difference between Squa Q10 and Uruoii Densetsu?
Squa Q10 is an oil-based moisturizer and anti-aging formula. Uruoii Densetsu is a water-based moisturizer and anti-aging cream.
​
Does Squa Q10 work for people with sensitive skin?
Because of Squa Q10's dramatic anti-aging properties some people are slightly irritated by this product. If you have sensitive skin and are looking for an anti-aging product we recommend Uruoii Densetsu.

Can White Knight be applied on pimply skin?
White Knight contains vitamin E which prevents sebum oxidization, vitamin C derivative which prevents pimples and Job's tears oil which suppresses pimple formation. So, this is effective for spots and pimple prevention and improving pimples already formed.

​Where should I use White Knight?
Spread a thin layer of the cream on oil-prone areas like the T-zone.​

How long do the effects last?
White Knight lasts for up to 24 hours controlling oil secretion and helping to keep makeup intact.​

​Where should I use Umi No Houseki?
Use anywhere you need extra moisture, such as on dry and rough patches of skin.

Can I use both Squalane and Umi No Houseki?
Yes. We recommend using Squalane as your regular moisturizer and then applying Umi No Houseki as needed to dry areas.

Does Uruoii Densetsu improve wrinkles already formed or prevent new wrinkles?
Both. It improves already formed wrinkles and helps prevent new wrinkles from forming all while giving you baby-soft skin.
​How long am I supposed to leave the 2-Way Jell mask on?
Only leave the gel mask on for 2-3 minutes before rinsing off.

Is the gel mask supposed to become hard?
No. The mask will not become hard; it will remain the consistency of honey.

What does 2-Way mean?
This means that the gel mask has two purposes. One is to clean clogged pores and the other is to improve circulation in your skin which will help your skin exfoliate dead skin cells naturally without the use of harsh abrasives.

Why does 2-Way Jell get quite warm when applied to the face?
2-Way Jell naturally warms on contact due to glycerin, which helps improve your skin's circulation. This helps your skin exfoliate dead skin cells naturally without the use of harsh abrasives.

Once or twice a week or as needed.

Absolute Brightening Serum improves skin troubles such as age spots, pigment left by acne, fine lines, sagging, acne, dullness and dryness all while tightening pores.
